This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Pier 1. All opinions are 100% mine.
The world has been hit here and there by unsettling phenomena lately: natural calamities, man-made tragedies or disasters brought by both.
It feels so surreal to me.  I see stuff on television that I used to see only in movies.  Incidents evoking fear and paranoia, which used to be stirred in viewers by scripted film.  Not anymore.  Scary things, which we used to think as unlikely happening, have suddenly started to prove how highly probable they can become.  The earthquake and tsunami in Japan, the volcano eruption in Hawaii. It's not good.
Yesterday, I was just thinking...
All of a sudden, all of us are contemplating about our future, and what's left for us to look forward to. That aside from being happily cherishing the wonderful feeling when winter ends, we are also forced to think about getting ready for any future calamities which might happen still.  Last night,  while the hubs and I were packing our "cold season" clothes away in anticipation of spring, we have set aside a few items including a blanket for a "go-bag" which might come in handy.  That, plus shopping for more canned goods than usual.
But you know, we resolved that life must go on.  Nothing can ruin the coming of spring and the beautiful promises that it comes with.    We got stuff ready in case some more ominous things show up, but at the same time, we choose to not stop living the good life on its tracks just because of that.
We are going to make good our plans on sprucing up our backyard, in anticipation of more outdoorsy activities with family and friends.  We checked out Pier 1 and we're just in time for registering for special in-store offer this weekend.  We're heading right there in a few hours! And tomorrow, who knows, if we find more stuff to buy! I am particularly eyeing the Taza Round Outdoor Round Table since the style is perfect for my art taste, a kaleidoscope of color atop a sturdy iron base with every tile handcrafted out of clay, screen-printed, then individually hand-painted. Can almost pass as my work! But I'm not a fakey like that!  And of course, one of their Papasan chairs! I'm still debating if I should get the red or teal.  Red is my motif indoors, while I have teal for the outdoors. It's kind of crazy because these things can be used both inside and outside, and so I am confused, nonetheless, greatly wowed by the versatility. I hope you can visit the site to check the wowies out including their Pier 1 Outdoor newsletter, because I really really love their stuff (and the great bargains they offer!) How sweet is that.  I've been a loyal customer since we moved in to our house in 2008. Something to "wow" about, that's what I can say!
And yes, they have Pier 1 Tweetups: March 22 in Dallas, April 5th in Atlanta and April 20th in NYC!
So, life must go on.  I will continue to welcome spring and live life to the fullest.  I will continue to hope for summer.  And pray fervently that all the chaos and calamities will stop shaking us.  I will continue to trust in God, and His love for us. And continue to be faithful that he will grant us more Springs and Summers to come.
Each day is a gift.
Especially these days.
Let's not throw any day away.
